Roy Loman

Roy Loman is founder of Tulsa’s Loman Studios, Oklahoma’s premier art glass studio.  Accredited by the Stained Glass Association of America, Loman Studios designs, fabricates and installs projects for residential, commercial and church clients.

Loman began working with stained glass 35 years ago.  Today his work can be found from South Dakota to Jerusalem.  His proudest project was also his most painstaking – the replication of the stained glass windows in Oklahoma City’s historic St. Joseph’s Cathedral following their destruction in the 1995 bombing of the Murrah Federal Building.  Working from photographs and boxes of jumbled shards, Loman and his artists painstakingly recreated the panels.  More recently, the creative impulse has led Loman to expand his work into blown glass, which involves fluid, dynamic processes, markedly different from the studied geometry of his other work.
He enjoys making colorful, free form pieces and is Oklahoma’s oldest active Glassblower.

Roy is also on the Board of Directors for the Tulsa Glassblowing School.
