"My art is a reflection of my love of texture and the contrast between the bold washes of color and the mystery of delicate layers. The buildup of materials not only adds interest but ultimately helps shape the pieces as the voids dictate and capture the flow of the paint. While I use mixed-media including plaster, acrylics, and resin, my work is known for its incporation of metal leaf."
Susan is also an award winning Interior Designer. She feels blessed that a series of circumstances, including a bout with the West Nile Virus while she was constructing her studio, have led her on a path to be able to do what she loves, Art.
Susan's work can be found internationally in corportate installations and private residential collections. Her interior design background drives her passion for large-scale pieces and the ability to work with collectors in developing commissioned work for specific spaces.
While each piece is signed and titled on the back, a subtle plaster square is incorporated into her art and serves as her signature.
Susan resides in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She is happiest spending time in her converted carriage house studio along with her "mutley crew" of studio dogs.
