Born in Oklahoma, raised in northern Arkansas. Deep and abiding love of nature learned from father and interest in crafts and books developed from mother. Interest in Fine Arts began with appreciation of Old Masters reproduction and stained glass windows in churches during childhood. While attending Annual Student Art Exhibition during final year in college decided to learn drawing and painting. Executed intitial paintings and drawings based largely on surrealism and cubism.
In 1993 while living in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Marsh married and artist Marolyn Summers. Intensely studied modern painting, with emphasis on abstract expressionism and Australian aboriginal art. They have resided and maintained a studio in Tulsa, Oklahoma since 1998.
"During the past few years I have become increasingly convinced that all painting is a form of graffiti, whether it be done by an Old Master or a young man with a crayon or an ancient man in a cave with a red ochre on a stick. The outcome is remarkably similar, a concept is communicated from one to another." as quoted by Marsh.
