George Hill Jones was born in 1956 in Dallas, TX. George has been drawing and painting basically his whole life, since going to the principals office in the first grade for drawing The Beatles.
George does commission work for individuals and commercial clients and can paint any subject matter. No size is too large. He actually prefers to do large work because he is 6'5" and his style is more suited to bigger canvases. He applies a large amoutn of paint on most of his work and is a combination brush and palette knife painter. His art takes on a C-D look with the usage of large chunks of fresh paint which is another reason his work is so demanding.
His color palette has consisted of bright, contrasting colors and his paintings are positive and are meant for people to view and feel good about the world around them. "I want my work to reach out to people and just make them happy. There's way to much sadness in the world. I believe most people are looking for things that will bring them up to a better place or mood or perhaps help them escape from their daily lives."
George has a degree in advertising from the University of Texas in Austin where he took many art classes and studied the various styles of art. He graduated in May 1980. George's work has been enjoyed and collected by many all over the country including vice president Dan Quail and 5 of his vice presidential advisors at the time.
George is married to a great girl Molly (a red head). They have three wonderful children and live in Plano, Texas.
"I thank the Lord every day for the freedom to live in the greatest country in thr world and the ability and time to paint and to hopefully make a small contribution to the world through my art."
