"Simmering with energy and wonderfully alive"
Fascinated by the magic of color and shape C. Stewart sees in the abstract, leaving the viewer to fill in the finer details as they meander through her brilliant subjects. Her works are contemporary still life and abstract paintings with spontaneous use of color and brush stroke. Stewart's real name Yei Hung. She was born in 1975, in Ma-kum province. She graduated from China Art Institute in 1991 and studied in the Central Art Institute for more than ten years from 1990-2001 under the apprenticeship of Chinese senior artist Pei Hong Suh.
C. Stewart (nom de plume) was the 2004 Peking (Beijing) Art Expo Gold Medalist before the age of 30. She has executed numerous commissions for wall paintings and applied arts projects.
The enigma of a work of art is in "seeing" the voice that speaks from it. The voice of Stewart's painting is subtle yet powerful, quiet yet intense. Inspired by her travels, she lives and works in Peking, China.
Her work can also be found in many private and corporate collections throughout the world.
